MATT LEE
PRINCIPAL, AIA LEED AP
Matt Lee is the Founding Principal at Lee Design Studio, a Northern Virginia-based Architecture and Design firm. The firm is focused on single-family, multi-family, and retail projects in the Washington, DC area. Lee Design studio was founded in 2017 and has grown significantly to include a team of five, highly qualified experts. With more than 15 years of experience, Matt enjoys the constantly changing challenges of running a small business and architecture practice. Prior to founding Lee Design Studio, Matt worked for leading design firms in the DMV.
Matt spends a lot of his time with his kids and their sports, as well as being an active member of the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce, AIA Small Firm Exchange, and his church’s Building and Grounds Committee.

NELY RIVERA
PROJECT MANAGER
Nely Rivera is a Project Manager at Lee Design Studio. She earned her Master of Architecture degree from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Environmental Design and Architecture from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. Nely’s prior experience includes multi-family residential, large scale mixed-use, workplace, senior independent and assisted living housing and single-family residential projects. Having worked in Puerto Rico, Florida and DC area over 10 years, Nely brings a broad spectrum of skills and creativity to the projects from concept to construction.

MARIE PAYNE
DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS OPERATIONS + DESIGN COORDINATOR
Marie is the Design Coordinator at Lee Design Studio. She develops interior design solutions and consults with our clients throughout various phases of the design process. She focuses primarily on kitchen and bath design and works with clients to deliver the finish and product selections for residential and multifamily projects. Marie also serves as Director of Business Operations for the firm, responsible for such aspects as client management, accounting, human resources and business development.

TYSON DUBBE
PROJECT DESIGNER
Tyson Dubbe grew up in the Tidewater/Hampton roads area of Virginia and attended Virginia Tech, where he holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture. With his love for its mountains lakes and abundant hiking trails, he has resided in Virginia for much of his life. Eighteen years of experience in the architecture field have provided him with design experiences ranging from single-family homes, numerous multi-family communities, commercial/retail buildings, higher education facilities, and several civil/government projects, all with a track record of success. A passion for the creative arts (painting, sculpture, screen printing, metal work . . . with participation in several exhibits around Virginia) and a focus on detail-oriented design provide him with the tools necessary to help bring your projects to life.

GREG STEPHENSON
DIRECTOR, SINGLE-FAMILY DESIGN
Greg Stephenson is the Director of Single Family Design at Lee Design Studio. He earned his Master of Architecture degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Kenyon College.
Greg has more than sixteen years of experience practicing architecture and has worked on nearly every type of building project that exists. Single family residential projects are where his heart truly lies and he is equally passionate about both the concepts and the details of each one. He has honed his skills to help guide homeowners through the design process and is ready to help them fulfill their visions.

CHRISTINE PROUDFOOT
PROJECT MANAGER
Christine Proudfoot is a Project Manager at Lee Design Studio. She earned her Master of Architecture degree from the University of Maryland and holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Trinity College in Hartford, CT.
Christine has more than a decade of experience in the design, development, and execution of both residential and mixed-use projects, and brings a wealth of expertise and insight from her previous roles. Prior to joining our team, she was actively managing several multi-family projects at varying phases and worked diligently with consultants, local neighborhood groups, and government agencies to get through the entitlements process quickly and deliver the best possible outcomes for her clients. She enjoys adaptive reuse projects in particular and has been very fortunate to work on several award-winning buildings throughout her career. Christine is actively involved in the architecture community outside of the office via AIA | NOVA and the UMD Architecture Mentorship program.
